Anthony Minghella occurs as British film director, playwright & film writer. He was innate in January 6, 1954 on the Isle of Wight to Italian/British parents. He won an Academy Award for his work as a director in The English Patient. In a period of the 1980s he worked in television, script editing the children's drama series Grange Hill for the BBC and later writing The Storyteller series for Jim Henson and episodes of the popular ITV detective drama Inspector Morse.

His go around film occurred in 1990, when Truly, Madly, Deeply - a a single-off drama he experienced written & directed for the BBC's Screen One anthology strand - became a major profits whilst freed to cinemas. This was Minghella's 1st operate when a director, & he sole chose to direct it himself as he thought that it would become little-watched & give him an chance to study a craft prior to start up large projects.
